What a day we had out on the water in Shalimar, FL! I took Ashish out for a Test Rate Card One trip with Ashish Test Company, and March didn't disappoint. We kicked off at 10:00 am, ready to see what the inshore waters had in store for us. March is a great time for fishing around here, with the waters warming up and the fish getting more active.
We mixed it up with bottom fishing, live bait fishing, and casting some artificial lures. The partly cloudy skies made for comfortable conditions, and the water was great for fishing. We tried a few different spots, and it paid off big time. The highlight of the day was when Ashish hooked into a monster Yellowfin Tuna. That fish put up one heck of a fight, but Ashish stayed cool and worked it like a pro. When we finally got it in the boat, it measured a solid 42 inches - a real trophy catch!
The tuna was definitely the star of the show, but we had plenty of other action throughout the day. The bottom fishing kept us busy, and we had some good hits on the artificial lures too. It's always fun to switch up techniques and see what works best. Ashish picked up the different methods quickly, and we had a blast trying out different spots and seeing what would bite.

I had a great time out on the water with Soundarya for our test 3 trip with Ashish Test Company. December in Tampa can be a hit or miss for fishing, but we lucked out with some fantastic conditions. We met up in Shalimar FL at 11:30 pm, which is an unusual start time, but it worked out well for what we had planned. The weather was partly cloudy throughout the day, giving us a nice mix of sun and shade. The water was great, which always makes for better fishing.
We focused on backcountry fishing, mixing it up with some surf fishing, bottom fishing, and inshore fishing techniques. It's always fun to switch things up and see what works best on any given day. The highlight of our trip was when Soundarya hooked into a big Striped Bass. That fish put up a heck of a fight, but Soundarya handled it like a pro. When we finally got it in the boat, it measured a solid 34 inches - a real beauty and a great catch for Tampa waters.
Throughout the day, we tried different spots and techniques. The partly cloudy weather actually worked in our favor, giving us some breaks from the sun and keeping the fish active. It's always a good day when you can land a fish like that Striper, but the whole experience of being out there, trying different methods, and enjoying the Tampa backcountry made it even better. Had a great day out on the flats with Soundarya and their crew from Ashish Test Company. December fishing in Shalimar, FL can be hit or miss, but we lucked out with some decent weather. It was partly cloudy, which actually helped us spot fish easier without the glare. We met up at 11:15 am and headed out to some prime spots in the Kaveri River Basin.

We focused on sight fishing and poling around the flats, keeping our eyes peeled for any movement. The partly cloudy skies made it easier to spot fish, and we had our soft plastic lures ready to go. It didn't take long before we spotted our target - an Atlantic Sailfish cruising the shallows. Soundarya made a perfect cast, and the fish couldn't resist. After an awesome fight, we landed a beautiful 40-inch Atlantic Sailfish. That's a catch you don't see every day in these waters!

The rest of the day was spent exploring different areas of the flats, always on the lookout for more fish. We saw a few more promising signs but couldn't quite connect. That's fishing for you - sometimes you get lucky, sometimes the fish win. But landing that Atlantic Sailfish made the whole trip worthwhile. It's not often you get to sight fish for a species like that in the flats, so it was a pretty special moment for all of us.

We had a great day out on the water, exploring the flats around Tampa, Florida. March is a fantastic time to be out on the Kaveri River Basin, as the warming waters bring the fish into the shallows, making for some exciting fishing opportunities.

Though we didn't manage to land any big prizes, we still had a blast trying out a variety of techniques—from deep-sea trolling to bow fishing and even some fly fishing. The conditions were perfect, with partly cloudy skies and comfortable temperatures, and the water visibility was excellent, allowing us to spot the fish and plan our next moves.

As we worked our way across the flats, we spotted some promising targets, but they proved to be a bit too elusive for us today. What a day it was out on the water! I had the pleasure of taking Ashish and another guest on a Test rate card2 - Refund 60 trip with Laddus in Tampa. March is a great time to be out on the flats here, as the weather is warming up and the fish are really getting active. When we met up at Tampa, the skies were partly cloudy, but the Kaveri River Basin was looking perfect - calm and clear, just the way we like it for a productive day of fishing.

We started off slow, trying a few different techniques like deep sea, jigging, and trolling, but the fish just weren't biting at first. Then, Ashish's line suddenly went screaming as he hooked into a feisty Goldfish! That got the adrenaline pumping, and we knew the bite was about to turn on. Sure enough, it wasn't long before I had someone else yelling that they were hooked up. This time it was a beautiful Vermilion rockfish, putting up an amazing fight before we were able to get it in the boat. The action just kept building from there, and we had a blast cycling through techniques like bowfishing, fly fishing, and light tackle to see what the fish were responding to.

By the end of the day, our cooler was nicely filled, and we had some great stories and memories to take home. The bite was a bit slow, but we managed to spot some nice schools of fish busting the surface, teasing us with tantalizing glimpses. 

As the day progressed, we switched gears and tried our hand at some jigging and trolling, working the current breaks and underwater structure. The water visibility was great, allowing us to spot schools of baitfish and track the movements of the predators below. Unfortunately, we just couldn't seem to get the hookup we were looking for, but the thrill of the hunt kept us engaged and energized. 

Even without landing any big catches, Ashish and I had an amazing time out on the water. We got to experience the full breadth of Tampa's water sports offerings, from the tranquility of scuba diving to the adrenaline rush of bow fishing. It was a mixed bag kind of day out on the water, but that's all part of the adventure with our Fishing Trip here in Tampa. The weather was a bit touch and go, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of rain throughout the day, but nothing that was going to slow us down. The Kaveri River Basin can be a tricky fishery, with constantly changing tides and water conditions, but that's all part of the fun. As we headed out at 3 PM, I knew it was going to be an interesting trip, with a nice variety of techniques available to target the different species in the area.

We started off working some deeper structure with heavy tackle, trying to entice any bigger predators like Blacktip Shark that might be lurking around. The jigging and deep-sea tactics didn't produce any hookups, but we could see plenty of baitfish activity, so I knew the fish had to be around somewhere. Next, we switched gears and started working some shallow flats with our fly rods and light tackle, hunting for Speckled Trout and Redfish that would be cruising the edges. Karthi was casting like a pro, but we just couldn't seem to draw any strikes. Just when we were about to switch things up again, a big Spanish Mackerel blasted a topwater plug, giving Karthi an awesome fight before we got it safely in the boat. That was the highlight of the day for us.

Though we didn't manage to land any big prize, we still had a great time out on the water, enjoying the scenery and good company. That's what these trips are all about—spending a few hours chasing fish, trying different techniques, and just taking in the beautiful surroundings. It may not have been the most productive day from a numbers perspective, but the experience of being out on the water, trying new things, and creating memories together is what really matters.

Today, I had the pleasure of guiding Rajshree singh on a fishing trip in Tampa. Although we didn't manage to land any big prize, we still had a great time out on the water, enjoying the scenery and good company.
